The original blends pushed the limits of what a "conventional" cigar could be, introducing American fire-cured tobacco leaves from Virginia and Kentucky. As the wrapper switches, there is no noticeable flavor change (mostly caramel, dark toast, and oak)—as this happens too close to the cigar's nub, where the heated tobaccos provide little in the way of discernible complexities. Candela wrapped cigars are usually visually interesting to look at, but, in addition, the MUWAT KFC Swamp Thang has the visual appeal of contrasting wrappers on the top and bottom, with the band covering the transition between the two. For my palette, I prefer the MUWAT Kentucky Fire Cured over the Swamp Thang by a small margin (because of the richer flavors) but I can say that I wouldn't ever turn one of these down.
