Under the Silver Lake hits its stride slightly more often than it stumbles, but it's hard not to admire - or be drawn in by - writer-director David Robert Mitchell's ambition. Did we miss something on diversity? Along with the three large mysteries at play, the entire story is centered around the idea that there may or may not be hidden codes in the world around us.
