All in all, it was a great class to have and I hope to take another course of Vasey's in the near future. Vasey allows you to be comfortable when speaking of topics that would usually make you uncomfortable! And think about giving PowerPoint a rest. It's a large class, so even a little bit of chatter would be very disruptive. I study the humanities so science terminology doesn't pop up too often, but Vasey explained the terms very well and spent a little time defining each one. I have been privileged to teach so many engaged students, but I still remember the one who read a whole newspaper through my lecture. The main goal of the class is to teach students how to think. I received a shockingly low score one year only to find that most of the comments related to the late Friday afternoon timeslot and the location (a huge old church, with many students sitting in the upper balcony). Professor helped to engage students by making us think about things we may not have thought of before, or in ways we may not have used before. The assignments were not difficult but accurately tested the student's understanding of the course materials. I really enjoyed Paul's anecdotes about his research and about other sex researchers as they really added to the class material. I feel that I have been fortunate to have him as a professor/mentor. Fantastic class and I wished there were more being offered. While it did so, I searched frantically for the key to open the AV cabinet, which I had somehow mislaid in my race around the building looking for working copiers. With handouts, I was always able to establish eye contact with my audience, aiming to achieve it with everyone in the room at least once during each lecture. You teach some amazing courses, I also learned about travel and life lessons from you.
