He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter in law, Twanna Sue Roberts Clark; several siblings; and grandchildren, David Wayne Murphy and Skyler West Clark. Burial to follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery. He worked tirelessly securing grants for funding, overseeing the fireworks for the 4th of July every year and oversaw bringing a steam engine to Stearns. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Joyce King Hamlin whom he married October 15, 1960, four brothers: Leonard Hamlin, Willard Hamlin, Clifford Hamlin, and Delmar Hamlin, four sisters: Amy Hamlin, Alma Taylor, Velva Stanford and Lola Beville.

He also drove a tractor trailer truck and worked for the County of Gwinnett in Georgia. He was our top mechanic and our home repair man. Best known as Jamy, he was a loving father, a precious son, loving brother, and wonderful uncle. Survivors include his brothers, Burl Dority and Joe Daugherty (Renee) both of Whitley City, Kentucky; sister Madie Parriman of Whitley City, Kentucky; and several nieces, nephews, and other family. She married Merlin Smith on December 9, 1966 and they remained married for 40 years. She was born January 5, 1951 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Charles Meeks and Thelma Boyatt Meeks. Wayne had worked as a heavy equipment operator in the log woods and was a member of the Mt View Baptist Church.

At the early age of 15 Willie joined the Job Corp, which took him to Pine Knot, Kentucky.
