So, I am left with the fact that I would have to place the car in "non-op" status at the DMV. Again is that normal??? The most likely culprit is a faulty MAF sensor, but it could also be an issue with the fuel injectors, fuel pump, or ignition system. You need better diagnostic tools, including a smoke test to eliminate vacuum leaks. In this article, we will look at what happens when you disconnect the mass airflow sensor.
